Urban Tales Shorts Programme

Experience Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, London and New York like never before.

Films screening at this event:

The Red House (dir Tamar Tal Anati)
Built in 1924 the iconic Red House in Tel Aviv was first used as a textile factory. In later years it was turned into a synagogue, and then an art gallery. Its story is also that of Tel Aviv – ever-changing, inclusive and full of contradictions.

I Heart NY (dir Andre Andreev)
This is a beautifully shot love letter to New York City by Jewish graphic designer Milton Glaser, whose I Heart NY logo, created more than 40 years ago has become a much imitated global icon.

Travelogue Tel Aviv (dir Samuel Patthey)
The many facets of Tel Aviv are beautifully captured in this upbeat, animated film (just as upbeat as the city it celebrates!).

Jerusalem_In_Between (dir. Pietro Pinto)
Two boxers, one Jewish and one Arab, share their life story and their similarities.

Kafka (dir Ewa Chodzicka)
Doctor Irit Kafka is nicknamed “The Mother of Half of Jerusalem”, as the head of the IVF department in Bikur Hulim hospital in The Prophets street.

Miriam (dir Taylor Hartley)
Miriam, an Evangelical Christian, defies challenges in her quest to help those around her.

Yehudis (dir Justyne Gawelko)
Yehudis is an ultra-orthodox female artist with a mission: bringing art to her community.

Homemade (dir Constanza Munoz Poupin)
Following the legacy of a family falafel business, Motti and his son feed the people of The Prophets street.
